~Short Fiction Thriller~

As the bright morning sun brought light into her bedroom window, Ashley groggily rolled over to find a small folded up piece of paper beside her pillow. She tousled her long auburn hair out of her face and opened it up. It read, “Meet me by the firelight tonight at eight o’clock,” in sloppy handwriting. This type of note might have been precious to her if she had any idea who it came from. Ashley was happily single, with no interests in anyone.

Perplexed, Ashley sat up and decided to check her house for intruders. After making a clean sweep…

Perspectives can change

Today has a whole different feel than yesterday. Since I have Bipolar 1 Disorder, I tend to go through quite intense mood swings.

Accompanied by my mood swings are changes with my energy levels, either going very high, or extremely low. This can become quite frustrating because they are usually completely unpredictable. It’s almost like I have two people inside of my body- the hyper me, and the depressed me, and nothing in between.

It’s still hard for me to admit to myself that I have Bipolar 1. As a teenager, it was one of my biggest fears. I remember…

Gratitude can be found closer than you think.

God made beautiful things that we are free to enjoy. He gave us sunsets full of vibrant colors, an amazing sky that holds the moon and stars, which He placed with his awesome power.

It’s hard to wrap my mind around such beauty. It’s sometimes hard to accept how loving God really is toward us, when people in the world can be so fickle.

While thinking of all of the many blessings God showers over the Earth, it’s a perfect time to give Him thanks. We can thank Him for the big things, as well as the little things. Things…

It’s just getting a little expensive!

I’ll admit it- I’ve been upset. I also have Bipolar 1, along with Borderline Personality Disorder, so I don’t do just a little of any emotion; I go all out!

I’ve tried to do a few things to cheer myself up. First, I did some shopping therapy. Succumbing to the instant gratification that shopping brought lasted about 7 hours, which is pretty good, but I needed more.

My poor husband was sound asleep, and it was only two in the morning, when I woke him up to tell him that I’d be driving to the store to buy my bunny…

Things can always turn around for the better.

As next week approaches, I’m feeling a little nervous because I will be going back to school.

Instead of wasting my morning playing the “What if’s,” I decided to take a more proactive approach to my anxiety. Since I longed to feel hopeful and optimistic, I began to research inspirational quotes.

As I scrolled down, I saw her name- Helen Keller. I thought that almost no one could do better than her to cheer me up. …

A mixed approach

I have lived with multiple anxiety disorders for as long as I can remember. I have been diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Panic Disorder.

Having to live with these, as well as a few other disorders can leave me frantic if I let things get too out of control.

I mainly regulate my anxiety levels with medications. Before I was on medication, everything was ten times worse.

One of my main anxiety complaints is that I get nervous butterflies in my stomach. medications have done wonders as it has eliminated them altogether.

Hope can bring forth a much brighter day!

Have you ever wanted to hide away and run from your problems? I’ve been in that overwhelming place before. Sometimes things become so dense and above our heads that our lack of clarity takes over, and we feel like we are in an all-consuming fog that makes no rational sense.

Thankfully, our God is a good God, and if we seek him, surely we will find his gentle spirit as he comforts us. We can hide in him until he grants us with the strength we need to continue on.

All God…

As long as we are still breathing

It seems that as I get older, each birthday I have becomes more like a slap in the face, rather than a blessing. As the numbers creep up, I continue to decline.

No matter how much we try to fight the ageing process, it still keeps chasing us.

Some people spend quite a bit of money on trying to look younger as they age, but the internal ageing process still continues. We can’t run from time, and eventually, it will catch up with us all, and a day will come when we will leave this earth.

The Good News

Thankfully, there is hope for all of us. If we accept that hope and trust in God to renew us at the appointed time, we can become immortal, along with him.

Contemplations from a spiritual perspective

I used to say that to learn patience is to practice waiting. Whether we are waiting in the car during traffic or waiting for an appointment, it can teach us a certain level of patience. Another thing I used to say was that we should never ask God for patience. I thought at the time that it would somehow spark God into giving us a trial that we may have otherwise not had to experience. Whether that’s true or not, I don’t know, but I still don’t really want to chance it!

A hard verse in the Bible to deal…

I hope they will help you as well.

A Brief History

Even though I have been using essential oils for over twenty years, I have more recently been utilizing them to help decrease my anxiety and depression.

When I first began to use essential oils, it was to make things like cleaning products, air fresheners, or bug spray. …
