a poem

She packed her bags
had been counting the days
until she could leave
away from this place

A new life beckoning
before her
she holds her new oyster
as she sees a bright future
for the first time ever

She doesn’t look back
as she turns from the house
no goodbyes, no see ya later
not even a sound could be
heard from her mouth
but a smile radiated from her
entire being

Walking down the road
to new paths unknown
she did not fear or
mislead herself with negative thoughts
for she was finally free
and was ready to put the past
into another file of things forgot
