A Poem
I have drifted away again
And choose to roam
Throughout the deserts of my mind
Not my own
Only you can save me from this
Nightmare I call life
A dream within a dream
As I deny reality
And live within the mirrors of time
Distorted as intended
As you try to control me with reality
As you mould and break me down
Giving birth to my inner rage
I lay broken
With jagged glass
That cuts into my eyes
You see me cry
Tears of blood
Tears of regret
Tears of death
Please discard me
I beg of you
Why will you not listen
Really listen
To the poetry
Within my eyes
And see the hurt
Feel the desires
Of my empty heart
Instead of chasing
Me relentlessly
Just let me go
Please set me free
